Tuesday, September 2nd

We had a great first day of preschool. Everyone was so excited to be there! We started by signing in. I have little papers with each child’s name written on in with dashed lines. They have to trace them before they can go and play. When everyone gets her we say the Pledge of Allegiance, glue on the days that have passed on our calendar, sing the days of the week song, the number song, and our abcs. We will start with these activities every day.

This month’s theme is Magnificent Me. We loved in the mirror so see if anyone looked just like us. We don’t have any twins, so everyone found that they were special. We sang “This Is Me, Me, Me!” It had actions, so the kids enjoyed it. For science we discovered our very own shadows. It moved just like we do.

Everyone had fun being traced to make Giant Paper Me’s, although no one was patient enough to color on all of their clothes. Our craft was a waving puppet. There was some cutting involved, which all three year olds love, and they struggled to only cut what they were supposed to. Some of the puppets legs had to be glued in multiple places. But who can resist cutting. All in all, we had a great first day.
