I introduced the number one and the kids practiced writing it, along with counting groups of objects. We sang “One Elephant.” Sunday was Grandparents Day, so we talked about grandparents and made them cards. To make the card the kids got to cut up pieces of paper and glue them onto a heart. They sure love to cut. We sang “Oh, Grandpa! Oh, Grandma!” and did fingerplay called “Grandma’s Spectacles”. We played a sorting game where the kids got to sort “Grandpa’s” socks. They were all able to pick out matches, so put them to work when you are doing laundry.
